Chapter 101 Richard pov.
As I watched Sarah take in the soft afternoon light streaming in the bedroom., I couldn't help but feel a little bit like a kid on Christmas morning.
She had no idea what I'd planned for today, and I was ready to see that look of pure joy on her face when she found out.
A private boat tour, just the two of us out on the water with nothing but the sound of waves and the open sky-it felt right. Something simple, yet unforgettable. "Are you exhausted? Are you ready?" She looked ata bit confused. Probably she didn't remembersaying I had a surprise for her.
"Ready for what? What's the rush?" "No rush," I replied, barely containing my excitement. "Just thought we could get out again. and enjoy the day... maybe take a little trip?" Her eyes lit up with curiosity, and I knew I had her attention. "A trip? Where are we going?" I grinned, leaning over to kiss her forehead. "That, my love, is a surprise." She rolled her eyes but laughed, shaking her head. "You and your surprises, Richard. Should I be worried?" "Not at all," I said, pulling her up. "Just trust me." *** Half an hour later, we were standing on the docks, a small yacht waiting just for us. The air was salty and fresh, and I could already feel the stress of the past year fading as I watched Sarah's expression shift from confusion to realization. "This... this is for us?" she asked, a little breathless.
"Just us," I confirmed, slipping my hand into hers as we climbed on board.
We set off, and soon we were gliding across the water. The waves were gentle, the sunlight warm, and there was this perfect, soft breeze that just made everything feel alive. Sarah leaned on the railing, staring out at the horizon, and for a second, she looked as if she were lost in thought, her face relaxed in a way I hadn't seen in a long time. "Do you know how long it's been since I've felt this calm?" she murmured, almost to herself.

She turned towith a soft smile. "Thank you, Richard. This is perfect." After a while, the boat captain pulled into a little cove surrounded by cliffs and wild, untouched jungle.
The water was a stunning shade of turquoise, clear enough that you could see all the way to the bottom. Sarah looked at me, wide-eyed.
"Are we... swimming?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, we're definitely swimming," I said, already pulling off my shirt.
She laughed, shaking her head, but I could see that glint in her eyes. "You're so sure of yourself, huh?" "Absolutely," I said, and with a grin, I dived off the side of the boat, splashing into the cool water.
When I surfaced, she was laughing, holding onto the railing. "Con!" I called, waving her in. "What are you waiting for?" She hesitated, looking at the water, then at me, then back at the water again. But I knew Sarah-she loved the thrill of trying something new, even if she'd never admit it. Finally, she took a breath, muttering, "Alright, you asked for it," and jumped in.
She cup gasping, shaking the water from her hair, and laughing so hard she could barely stay afloat. I swam over, pulling her close, and she looped her arms around my neck.
"I can't believe I'm doing this," she said, her cheeks flushed with excitement.
neither," I teased, holding her tight. "Maybe Hawaii's bringing out your wild side." "Oh, please," she scoffed, rolling her eyes but smiling all the same.
We spent the next hour floating in the water, diving down to see schools of colorful fish swimming beneath us.
I don't remember the last tI'd seen Sarah look so carefree, so unburdened. I wanted this moment to last forever, and for the first time, I really believed that maybe... we could keep this. Back on the boat, we lay side by side on the deck, drying off in the sun. The gentle rock of the boat was soothing, almost lulling us to sleep.
"Do you ever think about what's next?" she asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
I looked over at her, wondering what she was getting at. "What do you mean?" She shrugged, her eyes still on the sky. "I don't know. We've been through so much, it's hard to think about the future sometimes. Like... what does that even look like for us?" I thought about it. A future with Sarah. A real one, where we weren't always looking over our shoulders or bracing ourselves for the next storm. Just... living, together.
"Honestly?" I said, turning on my side to face her. "I think it looks like this. Maybe not Hawaii or boats all the time, but... being together. Building a life. One that's just ours." She turned to look at me, her expression soft, almost vulnerable. "You really believe we can do that?" I reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "I do. And I know we'll have ups and downs, but I think... I think we're ready for it." She looked atfor a long moment, then nodded slowly. too. I just needed to hear it." As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting everything in a warm, golden glow, the captain cback to let us know we'd be heading back soon.
He gave us a knowing smile, like he'd seen a hundred couples just like us, looking for something more than just a vacation.

"Hawaii has a way of bringing things to the surface," he said, his voice gruff but friendly. "Sometimes it's hidden desires, things you didn't even know you wanted. This island has a funny way of doing that to people." I looked over at Sarah, seeing her smile but also the curiosity in her eyes. The captain's words lingered, and I wondered what hidden desires we'd uncover here, what new chapters we might be stepping into.
Sarah tilted her head, a playful look on her face. "Hidden desires, huh? What do you think that means?" "Guess we'll have to find out," I replied, reaching for her hand and pulling her close.
Back at the resort, the sky was darkening, and the lights along the beach cast a soft glow across the sand.
We strolled hand-in-hand, neither of us saying much, both lost in thought.
e I knew I had something big planned, but hearing the captain's words m madewonder if there was more I wanted to say, more I hadn't even admitted to myself yet. When we finally reached our suite, Sarah turned to me, her face glowing in the moonlight. "Thank you for today, Richard. It was... everything." I pulled her close, wrapping my arms around her. "Anything for you." We shared a kiss, slow and lingering, as if trying to make this moment last. And as we pulled away, I couldn't resist the urge to tease her just a bit.
"You know," I began, trying to keep a straight face, "I think maybe there's still one more surprise left." Her eyes lit up, just like they had this morning. "Another one? Are you going to tell me, or is this another 'wait and see' thing?" I chuckled, pulling her closer. "You'll have to wait. But trust me-you'll love it." As I lay in bed that night, listening to Sarah's steady breathing beside me, I thought about everything that had led us here.
All the chaos, the ups and downs, the fights, the apologies. Somehow, through it all, we'd found our way back to each other. I felt ready for whatever was next, for the future we'd just talked about, one we could build together.
