Chapter 122 Sarah's POV I sat on the couch, fiddling with the hem of my shirt as my stomach churned. Not from the pregnancy-this time, it was nerves.

I'd spent the last few hours convincing myself that telling Richard was the right thing to do, but now that the moment was here, I couldn't find the words. Zara's voice rang out from the kitchen. "You've been sitting there for thirty minutes, Sarah. Either go tell him, or I'll do it for you." I shot her a look. "That's not helping." "Oh, I think it is," she said, smirking as she leaned against the doorway. "You've been overthinking this for days. Just rip off the band-aid already." I took a deep breath and stood. She was right, as usual. "Okay. I'm doing it." "That's my girl," she said with a grin. "Now go, before I grab a megaphone and announce it myself." I rolled my eyes and headed toward the study where Richard was. My heart pounded as I pushed the door open.

He was sitting at the desk, focused on his laptop, but he looked up the moment I stepped in.

"Hey," he said, smiling. "You okay?" "Yeah," I said, closing the door behind me. "I need to talk to you about something." He immediately straightened, his smile fading. "What's wrong?" "Nothing's wrong," I said quickly, holding up my hands. "It's... it's good news. I think." "You think?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

I took another deep breath, my hands trembling slightly. "Richard, I'm pregnant." The room went silent. My heart felt like it was about to leap out of my chest as I waited for his reaction. "You're... pregnant?" he repeated, his voice soft.

I nodded, biting my lip. "Yes. I know this isn't exactly the best timing, but-" He didn't letfinish. Before I knew it, he was on his feet, pullinginto his arms.

"Are you kidding me?" he said, his voice full of emotion. "This is amazing, Sarah. I'm so happy." "You are?" I asked, pulling back to look at him.

"Of course," he said, his smile brighter than I'd seen in weeks. "We're going to have a baby, Sarah. How could I not be happy?" Relief washed over me, and I felt tears prickling at the corners of my eyes. "I didn't tell you because of everything." "I'm sorry." He cupped my face in his hands, his eyes shining. "Sarah, this is the best news I've heard in a long time. I can't wait to be a dad." His excitement was contagious, and for the first tsince I found out, I let myself feel the joy that cwith it.

The door suddenly burst open, and Zara and Martins walked in.

"What's going on?" Zara asked, her eyes darting between us.

"Yeah, you two look like you're in a rom-com," Martins added, grinning.

Richard turned to them, his smile still plastered on his face. "We're having a baby." Martins clapped Richard on the back. "Congrats, man. Guess you've got a new boss coming soon." Zara smirked, crossing her arms. "This whole moment is way too movie-like for me. Where's the tic music? The rain? Shouldn't someone be crying?" "I think Sarah already checked that box," Richard said, chuckling as he looked at me.

I swatted his arm, but I couldn't stop smiling.

Richard's POV A baby. I was going to be a father.

The thought kept replaying in my head as I sat in the study later that evening. I couldn't help but smile as I pictured what the future would look like. Sarah with a baby in her arms. Little feet ran through the house. It felt surreal, but it also felt right.

Martins leaned back in his chair, watchingwith a knowing grin. "You're grinning like an idiot, you know that?" "Can you blme?" I asked, leaning back in my own chair. "I'm going to be a dad, Martins. It's..." I trailed off, struggling to find the words. "It's huge," he finished for me. "And it suits you, man. You've been glowing since she told you." I laughed. "Glowing? Really?" "Like a pregnant lady," he said, dodging the pillow I threw at him.

We both laughed, the sound echoing through the room. It felt good to relax after everything that had happened. "So," Martins said, leaning forward with a sly grin. "What's the plan?" "What plan?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"The plan to celebrate," he said, as if it were obvious. "You can't just sit here and act like everything's normal. You've got to do something special for Sarah." He was right. I needed to do something to mark this new chapter in our lives.

"I'll figure something out," I said, already running through ideas in my head.

"You better," he said, pointing at me. "And make it good. She deserves it after everything." "Don't worry," I said with a smirk. "I've got this."

The door opened, and Zara walked in, her eyes narrowing at Martins. "What are you two plofting?" "Nothing," Martins said quickly, looking far too innocent.

She raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Uh-huh. I'm watching you." "Why do I feel like you're always watching me?" Martins asked, grinning.

"Because you're clumsy and can't be trusted to walk in a straight line," she shot back, crossing her arms.

"I resent that," Martins said, standing up. "I'm very graceful." Zara snorted. "Yeah, like a baby giraffe."

I couldn't help but laugh as they bickered, their banter filling the room with a lighthearted energy that had ha been missing for so long. "You two should just admit you like each other and get it over with," I said, smirking at them.

Martins froze, his eyes widening. "What? No! I mean-" Zara rolled her eyes. "Please. As if." I laughed, shaking my head. "You're not fooling anyone." Martins muttered something under his breath, and Zara smirked, clearly enjoying his discomfort.

As they continued their back-and-forth, I leaned back in my chair, letting the sound of their voices fill the room. For the first tin a long time, things felt normal. Happy.
