Chapter 130 Richard pov.

The next afternoon, I led Sarah by the hand down the sandy path on the beach. Her face lit up with surprise as she looked around, realizing where we were.

"Richard, what is this? The beach? You broughthere?" She sounded almost in disbelief, like I was pulling ssort of prank.

"Yeah, I did," I said, grinning at her. "I thought it might be nice. Just the two of us, no work, no stress, just... us." I paused, noticing the slight smile on her face. "I thought you could use a break from all the office stuff." Her expression softened, and she leaned intoas we walked along the shore. "I wasn't expecting this, but it's perfect." We walked in silence for a moment, just listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.

I glanced over at Sarah, still amazed by how strong and beautiful she was, even with all the challenges of pregnancy. She had this glow about her that madewant to just hold onto these moments forever. "Do you remember the first twe cto the beach together?" I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

She chuckled softly. "How could I forget? You tried to impresswith your 'knowledge' of the ocean, but all you did was get stung by a jellyfish." I groaned, recalling the memory. "I thought I could just 'swim through it.' Big mistake." "Yeah, I tried not to laugh when you cout of the water looking like a tomato," she teased, nudgingwith her shoulder. "But I couldn't help it. You were so tic about it." "I wasn't tic!" I protested. "It really hurt. And you weren't exactly being helpful, standing on the beach and laughing instead of helping me." She burst into laughter again, and I couldn't help but smile at the sound. "I think it was your pride that hurt more than the jellyfish sting," she said, still grinning. "But, I mean, it was a pretty funny sight." We stopped walking for a moment, just standing there at the water's edge. I turned to her, taking her hands in mine. "I don't think I'll ever forget that day," I said softly.

"It was the start of something really special, and look where we are now. Still here, together." She smiled at me, her eyes filled with warmth. "Yeah, here we are," she said quietly. "I never thought I'd end up with someone like you. You've always had this way of making everything feel so... easy." I felt my chest tighten at her words. "I'm just glad I can make you happy. Even when I get stung by jellyfish." She laughed, leaning in to givea quick kiss on the cheek. "You always know how to makelaugh, even when things aren't so funny." We stood there for a while, just taking in the view. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the ocean. It was peaceful, and for a moment, it felt like thad stopped.

"So, what's the plan for the future, Richard?" Sarah asked, breaking the silence. "What are we going to do when the baby's here?" I hesitated, the weight of her question settling in. "I think... we just take it one day at a time," I said, my voice more serious now. "We've got each other, and that's all we need. I'm going to be here for you, every step of the way." She looked up at me, her eyes searching mine. "And you'll be a good dad, right? I mean, I know you will. But I just want to hear you say it." I smiled softly, my heart swelling with pride. "I'll be the best dad I can be. I'll make sure this kid grows up knowing they're loved." She nodded, her hand slipping into mine. "I know you will. And I'll be right there with you, helping every step of the way." We stood there, hand in hand, watching the sun dip below the horizon. At that moment, I felt like everything was going to be okay.

Later that day, we headed back to the office. I wasn't looking forward to the work stuff, but Sarah had insisted on checking in with the team before we left for the day.

I followed her through the building, half-listening to her talk about plans for the upcoming weeks, when something caught my attention.

One of the staff members, a young guy named Ben, approachedwith a smile. "Excuse me, sir," he said, looking atwith wide eyes. "Are you the new consultant? We've been expecting you." I blinked, confused. "Consultant? No, I-" Before I could finish my sentence, Zoe appeared out of nowhere, her laughter ringing through the air. She caught sight of the situation and immediately started laughing louder. "Oh my God, Richard," she said between laughs, "you look so professional today. I thought you were just the husband!" I felt my face turn red, and I shot Zoe an annoyed look. "I am not a consultant," I said, trying to explain to Ben. "I'm... well, I'm actually... I'm Sarah's husband. You know, the one who sometimes gets in the way at the office." Ben's eyes went wide, and I could see his face turning pale as he realized his mistake. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I thought... well, I didn't know." Zoe leaned over, still laughing. "He's just here for the snacks and moral support, don't worry," she teased.

I tried to laugh it off, but it was a little embarrassing. "It's alright, Ben," I said, giving him a reassuring smile. "But I'm definitely not a consultant." Zoe couldn't stop giggling. "I think you should get a ntag that says 'Consultant Richard.' It would make things a lot more interesting around here." I rolled my eyes at her. "You're such a troublemaker." Ben, still apologetic, backed away awkwardly. "I'll... I'll go get back to work. Sorry again, Mr. Richard."

"It's fine," I said, still feeling a little embarrassed. As Ben walked away, I shot Zoe a playful glare. "You're really enjoying this, huh?" She grinned. "Oh yeah. This is the best thing that's happened all day." That evening, after the day's chaos had settled, I found myself lying on the couch, reflecting on everything.

Sarah was in the other room, resting after a long day, and I had a rare moment of quiet.

I thought about the baby, the upcoming changes in our lives, and how much I had already learned from being with Sarah. I'd never reallym I'd never thought about fatherhood before we found out she was pregnant, but now it was all I could think about. I promised myself that I was going to be there for her, no matter what. I didn't want to miss a single moment of this journey. I didn't want to take any of it for granted.

It was easy to get caught up in the chaos of life, but moments liketoday-the quiet one's the ones where it was just us, laughing and talking about our future-were the ones that mattered the most. I wasn't just Sarah's husband anymore. I was going to be a father. And I was determined to do it right.

"I can't wait to see you hold our baby," I whispered to myself, a smile creeping across my face.
